Can We Get a Two Door Car?

Now that my wife has a full time job, she wants to buy a new car. She has had her heart set on buying a Volkswagen new beetle. However, now she doesn't know if to get it. Everyone in our family keeps telling us that you can't easily get a baby into the safety seat in a two door vehicle. Have any of you had any experience with baby seats and two door vehicles?

Hi, I'm CMS's mom Paulina. Yes, you can have baby seats in two door cars. It's not impossible. You would probably place it behind the passenger's seat so that the driver could see the baby and reach the baby should they need to. It's not that bad getting to the seat to take the baby in and out. You'd just push the passenger seat all the way forward, then tip it forward. I've owned 2 new VWs, they are fun to drive. I'm sure that a decent VW dealer would allow you to take a car seat into their showroom and give it a test drive, so to speak.
Good luck witnh your pregnancy.

I have a New Beetle and they have anchors for car seats and the front seats lift up and out so it's easier to get into the back.

Best wishes!

FYI: The bug is out. We bought an SUV, a Kia Sportage. Its fully loaded and very nice. Brandi used to drive a Chevy Metro that got 46 miles per gallon. Gas prices are a bit more shocking for her now.
