If any of you reading this have the same problem or know someone who does, please share your stories. I'd love to have some positive news to share with my wife.
I am hoping that, after we have a successful birth, that this blog will provide a bit of hope and comfort for others in the same situation. I can't wait to post pictures of our baby who is due in May, 2006.

I want you to know that you have been successful.
My husband and I have suffered two very painful miscarriages in the past year. Our first miscarriage was at 12 weeks... with twins. We didn't realize until then how terrible our doctor was. We hadn't even had a chance to meet him. We hadn't seen our babies or even hear the heartbeats... and at 12 weeks! The first time we actually MET our OBGYN was the morning after the miscarriage. I had a bit of spotting on Thursday. The doctor assured me it was normal. Again, on Friday. Same thing. And then Saturday night I woke up and begged by husband to take me to the ER. We miscarried there. They wouldn't let us take our babies home to bury.
We switched doctors.
The second pregnancy seemed a little more optimistic. But, like you, we didn't talk about names or make plans or anything! We were SOOOO scared. Our new doctor was much better and monitored me closely. I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and was supposed to go back in at 8 weeks for a second. They did blood tests every week to watch my levels of pregnancy hormone. At 7 weeks... I miscarried at home.... to a clot in the toilet. We cried all night.
After that my doctor ran some tests and I was diagnosed with an MTHFR mutation in both genes. I now take aspirin, folic acid, a vitamin B-complex, and vitamins C & D, on a daily basis. We decided it would be too painful to try for another baby any time soon... so we opted for the Implanon birth control implant.
Implanon has stopped my period altogether. It makes it easier for me because I don't have to relive the experience every month.
We have passed the due date of Gemini (what we named our twins) and are coming up on Aren's (the second baby) in March.
Your blog has given me hope that it WILL work out someday. Reading what you write about the pregnancies and the miscarriages is as though someone could read into my very own heart and write down MY thoughts. Thank you. I am following your blog now... and my strength has been somewhat renewed. I can't wait to hear about your precious new one in April.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul.
